Peggy Parker, APRN, FNP-C

Peggy Parker attended the High Plains area Technical School and graduated in 1993 with a certificate in Licensed Practical Nursing. After some time, she attended Seward County Community College, graduating in 1997 with an associate degree in nursing. She continued working at various facilities, gaining an abundance of knowledge and experience.

In June of 2013, she was Board Certified in Family Practice by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners after successfully completing her Board Exams. She began working at Satanta District Hospital in July 2013 and is currently assigned to the Sublette Clinic as a Nurse Practitioner. She specializes in Family Practice but also provides women’s health exams at the Sublette Clinic and the Haskell County Public Health Department.

Her certifications include Basic and Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Burn Life Support, and Rural Trauma Team Development. She holds RN licenses in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. She serves as the Provider Representative on the Southwest Kansas Regional Trauma Counsel, Special Deputy Coroner with the State of Kansas, and is a Certified Medical Examiner for the Department of Transportation.

Peggy serves as a preceptor for physician assistant students from Wichita State University and nurse practitioner students from Marysville University and Walden University. Peggy is married to Randy Parker and has two adult sons, two stepsons, and seven grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren. They also enjoy playing golf and traveling in their spare time.

Jonathan Bigler, PA-C

As a PA-C, Jon Bigler brings his rural health experience to Satanta to continue to serve the patients of Southwest Kansas. Jon came to medicine later in life. Jon received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1986. While at KU, Jon was a varsity yell leader and is still one of the Jayhawk basketball team’s biggest fans.

After graduating, Jon worked as a biology teacher and wrestling coach for 16 years. However, he always wanted to return to his roots. He grew up in Garden City, KS, where his father was a surgeon. Jon made the dramatic choice to get his master's degree in 2006 from Wichita State University. From here, he was able to pursue his love of medicine. He worked in Ashland, KS for 10 years, often acting as the sole provider in the clinic, hospital, and long-term care facility.

Jon and his wife, Lori, a high school English teacher and tennis coach, moved to Meade, KS in 2016, where he served primarily at the Plains Clinic. For Jon, it was like coming home.

Now, Jon uses his many years of experience, both in the classroom and in the healthcare industry, to provide personalized care for his patients. His work has been spotlighted in the KUMC’s publication “Kansas Connections,” and he has served on KU’s Rural Health symposium panel throughout the years.

Jon and Lori have three grown daughters. Amanda is a professor of English in France, Erin is in cyber security in Austin, TX, and Elyse followed in her father’s footsteps and became a PA-C in Southwest Kansas. Jon’s favorite pastime, besides following his favorite basketball team, is rock and fossil hunting. His greatest find to date is a mastodon skeleton that he and his daughter discovered in 2008. Jon is excited to be a part of the medical team in Satanta and looks forward to building the relationships that he enjoys so much.
