Marge Collins, Manager of Business Office
I'm Marge Collins, Office Manager, and have worked at Satanta
District Hospital since 1988. I've learned lots of things over the years,
dealing with billing, insurance companies and regulations in healthcare, and
I am still learning all the time. If you have any questions or comments
about any aspect of our Hospital or Long-Term Care Unit please feel free to
contact me, and if I can't help you, I will try to get you to someone who
can.
Chris Small, Manager of Education/Infection Control
I started working for Satanta District Hospital in 1981 as a CNA,
went to LPN and worked as an LPN while completing my RN at Seward County
Community College in Liberal. I continued at SDH and my education. First as
an EMT then Nationally Certified Paramedic. I went to Fort Hays State
University where I got my BSN, (Bachelors of Science in Nursing). I love
emergency care, with labor and delivery coming in a close second. At one
time I was a training officer for the EMS, taught Natural Childbirth
classes, Certified Nurses Aide and Home Health Aide classes at Liberal
Vocational School. I still teach CNA classes.
Nancy Doss, Manager of Social Services
Hi,
my name is Nancy Doss. I'm the Social Services manager for Satanta District
Hospital and Long-Term Care. It has been my privilege to work in human
services for over 20 years and at Satanta District Hospital for almost four
years. I have a Master of Arts degree in gerontology from WSU. I completed
my last few classes with help from the SDH scholarship program for which I
am extremely grateful. People ask me what exactly are social services. My
job in the hospital focuses on helping with the discharge planning, making
service referrals and being a patient advocate. My job at LTCU is to uphold
resident's rights which state and federal law protect. I wanted to work at
SDH because I thought it was the perfect arena for wrap-around services for
the elderly with it's hospital, pharmacy, on staff Physical Therapist,
surgical unit, clinic, medical staff and long-term care unit. My favorite
part of my job is learning from the residents and patients about successful
aging.
